I Am ARMY II: Call for submissions
“I’m curious about each fan’s story, how they became ARMY, what made them join. I’m curious what kind of dreams they have and what they do, where and how they live… all these things.”
— RM, Festa 2021.
Series editor: Wallea Eaglehawk <wallea@revolutionaries.com.au> | Imprint: Bulletproof | Chapters due: April 1, 2022, 12pm AEST (GMT +10)
Series editor Wallea Eaglehawk is calling for submissions to I Am ARMY II, the second book in the I Am ARMY series that seeks to locate, document, and celebrate the diverse voice of ARMY. In I Am ARMY: It’s Time to Begin (2020) contributors from around the world shared the story of how they became an ARMY in an autoethnographic essay. For I Am ARMY II, Eaglehawk is interested in personal essays — as opposed to autoethnographic — that respond to RM’s desire to know who ARMY are, where they’re from, and what made them join the fandom. These essays are to focus on the journey to becoming an ARMY or an ARMY experience, as opposed to telling the story of BTS. Eaglehawk is wanting to see original, fresh, dynamic, and bold personal essays that share stories, ideas, and lived-experiences in ways that are accessible and push creative boundaries. Works that combine multiple styles of writing — poetry, prose, essay, creative nonfiction — are welcomed. This is your chance to share your story straight from the heart.
